Meet Karolina Persson

What is your story?

When I was a kid my family went with a trailer every winter to stay in the north of Sweden and I loved it! I loved being outside playing in the magic landscape whit all the beautiful snow and I still do.

Year 1990 I first tried to snowboard on a big gigantic board and I had much too large boots. But I loved it so much that it did not matter! I was fixed and after that point I was a snowboard girl on the inside and out. I was 8 years old.

After my years in school I moved to north of Sweden and started to work as a snowboard instructor. It was my dream job the best job ever! Being outside snowboarding all day and share my love and joy of the sport to others.

Now I work as a designer and I making sport /street clothing and I'm sure that my work style and design shows that the board culture is close to my heart!

What does your sport mean to you?

Snowboarding is a great feeling that I can't explain in words. But if I try I will say - it takes all my worries away and it makes me happy.

What is your best memory from your sport?

It's so hard to pick just one!
Hiking and snowboarding whit friends and a lot of powder snow in Chamonix and Åre was a blast!! But nothing beats all the magical sessions I had just hanging around whit friends chilling in the Pinkpark in Sälen.

What do you think about GirlieCamps?

I love it!! It is so nice to meet all the girls how love to ride and travel, just like me! I have so many good memories and new friends thanks to GirlieCamps! I love the feeling and the spirit of the camps like the yoga the lessons and the girl power!!! It makes me feel that I can do anything! This summer I tried to learn how to surf with GirlieCamps in France!!! It was awesome!  So I found a new passion and I'm very happy about that. 

What do you want to say to all girls out there?

It's never too late to live you dream and follow your hart and just do it!!! Don't ever forget to have fun!
