Marika Borg

Marika Borg founded Girlie Production in 1999. She was working as a freelancer and her goal was to support and develop board sport concepts and to push them into media focus. She made a job out of her personal passion for board sports, since this was already a major topic in her life.

Already in 1990, she had created a windsurfing organization for females in Sweden, called "Ran", which is still rocking today and is one of the most important meeting platforms for windsurfing girls in Scandinavia. In addition to her work for the board sports industry, she was involved in the organization of events in her home country Sweden.

In 1999, she met Jacob Söderqvist in Falun and learned about a snowboard session that had been taking place in Falun for five years. Marika started working with the local snowboarders to push the event to another level. Today, the competition is known as "THE BATTLE" and has become one of the biggest and most recognized snowboard events in the whole world. It is a part of the Ticket To Ride Tour.

After having gained all kinds of different experiences within the board sports industry Marika decided to create her own project, this time something special only for girls. This is how GirlieCamps was born!
